OPPO Find N2 Leaks Suggest It Could Give The Galaxy Z Fold 4 A Run For The Money

When you think of foldable devices, the only name that probably comes to mind is the latest version of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold that is available now (in this case, it would be the Galaxy Z Fold 4). While there are many players in the market, including HONOR's Magic V and OPPO's Find N, it has been dominated by Samsung for several years.

In fact, the only reason you should (probably) care about the Galaxy Z Fold is because it's currently the only foldable you can buy right now. Right now, HONOR Magic Vs, OPPO Find N and Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 are exclusive in China. There is currently no evidence that OPPO will bring its next foldable device, the OPPO Find N2, to the global market, but if it does, it looks like it will give the Galaxy Z Fold 4 a chance. That's why.

Over the past few weeks, a lot of information has leaked about OPPO's next-generation foldable tablet. Here's what we know about the OPPO Find N2 so far ( GizmoChina via Weibo Tipster Digital Chat Station ):

display and design

According to the leak, the OPPO Find N2 will have the same display as last year's Find N. This means that inside we will see a 7.1-inch foldable AMOLED display with up to 120Hz refresh rate and a 5.54-inch display. AMOLED screen (cover screen) with up to 120 Hz refresh rate support. The aspect ratio and resolution will likely be the same as last year's foldable. As with last year's Find N, there will be no gaps between the foldable screens. However, it should be noted that Galaxy Z Fold 4 has a noticeable gap.

Some rumors claim that the OPPO Find N2 will be lighter than the Find N and significantly lighter than the Galaxy Z Fold 4, which weighs just 237 grams. For comparison, let's note that Galaxy Z Fold 4 weighs 263 grams. This is said to be due to the use of glass and leather materials on the back of the Find N2, which not only results in a lighter weight but also a more premium feel. Folding can be offered in black, white and green colors.

camera

This is where things get interesting. According to the leak, the OPPO Find N2 will have a 50MP main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), a 48MP ultra-wide sensor and a 32MP Sony IMX709 telephoto lens. While the Galaxy Z Fold 4 has a 50MP main sensor, it only has a 12MP ultra-wide lens and a 10MP telephoto lens.

Coupled with the OPPO MariSilicon X Image Signal Processor (ISP) and Hasselblad optimization, the OPPO Find N2 can also give the Galaxy Z Fold 4 a tough competition in the camera department. We are impressed with the performance of the MariSilicon X ISP on the OPPO Find X5 Pro and we look forward to the next generation ISP improvements.

And not just the rear camera setup, the OPPO Find N2 will have a better selfie camera. According to Digital Chat Station , the OPPO Find N2 will have a 32-megapixel front-facing camera on the internal display and a screen cover. On the other hand, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 has a 10-megapixel sensor on the cover and a 4-megapixel sensor under the display on the foldable display, which is nothing short of impressive.

Battery, charger and processor

Compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 4, the OPPO Find N2 has a slightly larger battery of 4,520 mAh (Fold 4 has 4,400 mAh). In addition to the larger cell, the Find N2 also offers faster wired charging at 66W compared to the Fold 4's 25W. With the same Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset as the Fold 4, we expect similar performance to the Find N2.
