A new rumor has it that the China-only Oppo Find N3 will launch in America under the OnePlus Open name.
OnePlus' first foldable phone, also called the OnePlus V Fold in other reports, will be available in black or green.
According to the dump, it will have the same form factor as the Oppo Find N2.
It's no secret that OnePlus will be the first Android brand to release a foldable phone, but new rumors have it that the OnePlus Open (or OnePlus V Fold) will be Oppo's updated foldable phone.
According to a leak from Max Jambor, OnePlus' first foldable smartphone will be called the Oppo Find N3 and will be launched in China. That means Oppo's next foldable device may finally be coming to the US, albeit under a different brand name, unlike the Oppo Find N2 available in China.
The insider added that the OnePlus Open will have the same form factor as the Oppo Find N2. It wouldn't be surprising if Oppo made a phone in the same form factor as the OnePlus brand, as OnePlus is already popular in North America.
A previous leak claimed that the OnePlus Open would begin on August 29, a month after the debut of Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5. This is in line with what OnePlus announced earlier this year when it confirmed that the OnePlus-branded foldable device would launch in the second half of 2023.
Rumors of a foldable OnePlus are nothing new. Previous reports have claimed that the OnePlus Open will feature an internal 8-inch QHD+ 120Hz display paired with an external 6.5-inch FHD+ 120Hz display. Cameras can include a 50 MP primary sensor, a 48 MP ultra wide-angle lens, and a 64 MP 3x periscope lens.
Some of these rumors have been confirmed by Jambor, who claims that the phone will feature a periscope lens. It will also be available in black and green.
With OnePlus' reputation for making affordable flagships and the OnePlus 10 Pro and 10T costing under $900, it's finally possible to see sophisticated devices at an affordable price.
However, until foldable phones become popular, they are likely to be expensive for the most part.
