Listen To Ataxia's 'Techno Punks' Playlist

Who were the people behind your first album and how did you feel when it was released?

The inspiration came from punk and the touchstone of our upbringing at heart. More on direct musical influences, more on our experiences with Detroit traditional musicians. If you grew up here with shows and parties, especially in the '90s and early 2000s, Detroit had a cult following that spanned "various genres," it was underground. — so the nature of the album is steeped in a 'genre-going' mentality... mistakes wrapped in a sliver of hope.

You're just as likely to go to a suicide car show as you are to see Plastic Man or City of Ridges. The meeting place here was the center of attraction for the residents who came to town every weekend.

When DJ Tennis signed our Life and Death album, we had a friendship of over a decade based on our love and passion for our old school and hardcore history. In a way, this album is an extension of that energy, bringing Void Effects to the forefront of the project. It's so exciting to be there all the time... the process was never ending, but it was a huge motivator to push this project around the world.

The album features Detroit DJ Minx, Andres and Mr. It features collaborations with friends Joshua - what was it like working with these artists?

At the risk of kissing ass (it's pretty embarrassing), these are the nicest, friendliest, and most comfortable people to work with in the game. The reason why they are loved by so many people is because their talent is backed up with a smile and a lot of love. Detroit hit differently.

Thanks to Jennifer (Minx), Dez (Andres), and Josh (Mr. Joshua) for their help with the album. In many ways, it's great to have people ahead of us along our entire first persona who have been heroes to us. Hats off, it's such an honor to have such lovely people on your discography.

Everyone who wants to try out the annoying machines fails publicly and starts the damn thing without thinking about how it will be received.

making and listening to music; Unlike what you do for your business.

Having values that defy conventional expectations and willingness to go beyond them.

You can talk to us about your playlist.

The playlist is mostly made up of people we know from Detroit and Michigan whose performances reflect punk values and in many cases come from the punk and hardcore scene. Of course there are other amputees here, so to speak...

From the underground punk rockers of the Underground Resistance and Dave Clarke to trendy Detroit producers like Jimmy Edgard and electro punk titans ADULT. , ADMN and KeThu to electro focused wave sounds with legendary punk fans like DJ T-1000, Billibob and Lauren Flax. Of course, DJ Tennis ("Repeat" ffs - he's a guy who goes after our hearts)...these are the few people we can guarantee we don't mind, and they're all happy making and playing music. In its own way, without compromise.
