Xiaomi has launched a new 128GB storage variant of its entry-level Redmi A2 Plus phone in the Indian market. The Redmi A2 Plus will now be available in two configurations: 4GB/64GB and 4GB/128GB. Interestingly, Xiaomi has launched the 128GB model at the same price as the 64GB model, with the price of the latter reduced by Rs 500. This means that the Redmi A2 Plus 4GB/64GB configuration will be priced at Rs 7,499, while the 128GB model will be priced at Rs 8,999.

The Redmi A2 Plus was launched in India in May 2023 along with the cheaper Redmi A2. Both the Redmi A1 Plus and Redmi A1 follow the phones from last year. These are entry-level smartphones built from the ground up for new users looking to upgrade from a feature phone. It has an attractive design and great specifications, and its main advantage is its low price. To recall, the Redmi A2 starts slightly below Rs 6,499 (although it was launched at Rs 5,999).

The Redmi A2 and Redmi A2 Plus are almost identical phones, but the Plus model also has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner for added security. Another obvious difference is the amount of extra storage you can get with it.

As for the specifications, the Redmi A2 Plus comes with a 6.52-inch, 720p, waterdrop-shaped display. Under the hood, it has a MediaTek Helio G36 chipset with up to 4GB of RAM and now up to 128GB of storage. Expandable. The app runs on 13GB Android.

For photography, the phone has a dual camera setup with an 8MP primary sensor on the back and another 5MP camera on the front for selfies.
