The tech giant secretly fathered Grimes' third child, Techno Mechanicus, according to a New York Times review of Musk's recent biography, Elon Musk.
The publication briefly mentions the name of the son of Musk and Genesis, a singer nicknamed "Tau" by the former couple.
Little is known about when the child will be born.
Musk, 52, and Grimes, 35, have two other children together: 1-year-old daughter Aksu Dark Sedil, nicknamed "Y," and 3-year-old son X Æ A-12.
In May 2018, Page Six reported that Musk and Grimes had begun dating.
A source contacted after the Tesla founder tried to publish a joke about artificial intelligence revealed that Grimes, born Claire Elise Butcher, made the same joke.
Two years later, in May 2020, the couple had their first child, X.
In December 2021, the Canadian billionaire businessman and singer gave birth to their second child, Exa Dark Sail.
The duo announced their split months after their daughter was born to a surrogate mother.
"E and I *broke up again* after writing this, but she is my best friend and the love of my life, my life and my art are now forever dedicated to her mission," Grimes tweeted after the loss.

While it's unclear if the two have gotten back together, the musician and Musk were spotted with their son in Portofino, Italy in July. Although they were not photographed together, a source told the Daily Mail that they were staying at a luxury hotel.
Musk's 17-year-old son Saxon, who he shares with ex Justin Wilson, was also in attendance.
Earlier this week, Grimes asked Musk to meet her daughter in a since-deleted Twitter post.
"Tell Shivan to lift the ban and let me see my son, or bring back my lawyer," he said. The situation has completely destroyed my family to this day, but they won't even let me see pictures of these children."
The owner of X, formerly known as Twitter, has 11 children and three daughters.
Musk had a son, Nevada, with Wilson, but the couple lost their 10-week-old son to sudden infant death syndrome (SID).
Then in 2004, Wilson and Musk had twins Griffin and Vivian.
In January 2006, they had triplets Kai, Saxon and Damian. Musk and Wilson divorced two years later.
The billionaire secretly welcomed twins with Siobhan Zillis, Neuralink's director of operations and special projects, in November 2021 - shortly before Grimes Musk's second child was born.
