This product has solid quality, a high-resolution display, a responsive keyboard, and a full range of I/O ports. Equipped with an Intel Core i3-1315U CPU, 16GB of LPDDR4X RAM and a 512GB SSD, it handles everyday tasks efficiently, although it's not ideal for intense gaming or intensive video editing. The non-upgradable RAM is a small limitation, but overall the Y4 Max offers excellent value for money. It is a perfect choice for use in the office, school or in general at home and is therefore highly recommended in its price range.
Infinix is the dominant brand in the budget laptop segment in India and our Infinix Y4 Max review proves it. The base version of the laptop that I tested and reviewed was loaded with extras, meaning you only need Rs 33,999 to buy it. The specifications of this laptop are not impossible in this price category, but other things like build quality, I/O ports, keyboard and screen quality are proof of Infinix Y4 Max laptop. It's what I mean. So without further ado, here's everything you need to know about the Infinix Y4 Max, whether it's a good laptop or not, and who it's suitable for.

The build quality of the Infinix Y4 Max is one of the advantages of this budget laptop. It has an impressive aluminum alloy body. However, if you try to push the surface, you will feel it weaken a bit, but it holds so well that you won't notice if you push the surface on purpose. The surface is not metal, but that's fine because the Y4 Max is a budget laptop and the plastic used is of high quality.
The Y4 Max screen hinge is strong and durable and you can lift the cover with one hand. This part isn't easy to fix, especially if you have a 16-inch metal chassis, but I'd rather open the screen with two hands than have a loose hinge. The Infinix Y4 Max stands on four rubber feet and a set of 10 feet supports the back panel for easy removal.
When it comes to keyboards, Inifnix is something that has improved considerably over the generations. So despite being part of a budget laptop, the Y4 Max's keyboard is better than many of its more expensive cousins. For example, the Infinix Y4 Max's keyboard is much better than the ZeroBook Ultra, which costs twice as much. Even the trackpad is of high quality. They are large, soft to the touch and easy to touch. In short, very good.
The selection of input and output ports is also good, with an HDMI 1.4 port, two USB Type-A ports, a Thunderbolt 4 Type-C port, a standard Type-C port, a 3.5mm jack and an SD card slot. The I/O module appears complete and has all the necessary ports you'd expect from a cheap Windows laptop.
Infinix Y4 Max Review: Display and Speakers
The Y4 Max's display is another thing that Inifnix makes stand out in this laptop. Officially, the screen brightness of the Infinix Y4 Max is 300 nits. But in my tests, the maximum brightness of the SDR was 373 nits, which is very impressive. However, information about the coverage of the sRGB color space is still insufficient. Y4 Max has 83% sRGB color gamut coverage. In fact, the coverage of the sRGB color space is 80%. Finally, the Y4 Max's screen also has 60.8% DCI-P3 coverage.
As I mentioned earlier, the screen is a 16-inch device with a 16:10 aspect ratio, and this combination makes the screen quite large. You'll also notice that the Y4 Max's screen has good viewing angles and an anti-reflective coating. The screen's maximum refresh rate is 60Hz, which I think is reasonable for this price range.
On the other hand, the speakers are loud. You can easily hear it even in crowded offices. But the bass is almost non-existent. Infinix installed more components with speakers in the 16-inch notebook, but they could not provide the necessary "oomph". In short, the speakers are decent, but not for audiophiles.
Infinix Y4 high performance test
I have the Intel Core i3-1315U CPU variant of the Infinix Y4 Max and I think that's what most people prefer. Especially since the 13th generation Intel Core i5 variant of this laptop costs Rs 7,000 more. For this price, you only get an upgraded CPU while the rest of the specs remain the same. Here's how you can get the best value for money with the Core i3 variant.
In Cinebench R23, the Infinix Y4 Max scored 4828 and 1649 points in the multi-core and single-core tests, respectively. Meanwhile, the Y4 Max lost 200 points in the Cinebench R23 throttling test, which in my experience shows that the laptop doesn't lose much in terms of performance under sustained load. Typically, the point difference between a normal round and a fuel round should be around 300-500 points to be considered normal. Best of all, the Intel Core i3-1315U can easily stretch its legs and run continuously for 30 minutes at a standard TDP of 15W.
Next is Geekbench 6 and in this test the notebook scored 2305 and 7475 points in single and multi-core runs respectively. From these two tests, it is clear that the single-core performance of the Y4 Max is very good, and the multi-core performance is very good. We think it's really useful. The laptop handled a few Chrome tabs, along with a little graphic design in Canva and 4K video streaming. Playing AAA games or editing videos and the laptop starts having problems.
The 512GB SSD installed is the same across all variants and offers decent read and write speeds. Specifically, the read and write speeds are 3472.04 and 2546.58 MB/s, respectively. To put the SSD into perspective, the Y4 Max boots in 13 seconds, which is very fast.
The 16GB LPDDR4X RAM runs at a clock speed of 4567MHz, which is the fastest and highest speed of the LPDDR4X RAM type supported by the Core i3-1315U. While this LPDDR4X format offers significant advantages in terms of RAM speed, it still falls short in terms of upgradeability. Because this limitation LPDDR4X RAM is sold directly on the motherboard, it will be impossible in the future.
Infinix Y4 Ultimate Review: Summary
The Infinix Y4 Max ticks so many boxes that it will be my default recommendation for laptops under Rs 35,000 for at least a few months. Core brands should pay attention to this as it covers important basics like good build quality, good displays and healthy I/O. Also, the impressive 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD combo makes the Windows laptop worth more than the base variant. In many ways, this notebook delivers more than expected, on the other it delivers the performance that its specifications suggest, but it doesn't disappoint at all. Infinix Y4 Max is the best laptop under 35k for anyone looking for a laptop for work/office or a Windows PC for home/school.
