As the much-awaited launch of the Realme GT 5 Pro approaches, the company is creating buzz by highlighting the phone's telephoto capabilities. Realme, pioneer in introducing Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and Sony IMX890 telephoto camera, is all set to launch a smartphone that promises advanced imaging features. The company goes into more detail and highlights the myriad features this single camera will flaunt.

Considered the "king of next-generation telephoto lenses", the Realme GT 5 Pro has become the most expensive telephoto lens in the industry. The device will have an innovative 50MP Sony IMX890 sensor with 1/1.56-inch size, f/2.6 aperture and 3x periscope optical zoom that supports EIS and OIS.

Teasers on Weibo demonstrate its impressive capabilities, including up to 6x lossless zoom and an astonishing 120x superzoom. Using 4-in-1 multi-pixel bonding technology, this TV camera captures intricate detail in both highlights and shadows, enabling Dolby Vision HDR video.

Realme GT 5 Pro delivers exceptional performance through the synergy of next-generation optics, Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processing power and advanced imaging algorithms. This combination aims to achieve new scene detection, AI noise reduction and super resolution improvements for outstanding pictures and overall user experience.

This new chip and sensor synergy promises a noticeable 44 percent increase in image processing with up to 10 percent lower power consumption and is proving to be a powerhouse in smartphone photography.

Expected specifications

The Realme GT 5 Pro features a powerful camera setup, including a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-T808 sensor with OIS, an 8-megapixel OmniVision OV0810 ultra-wide-angle shooter, and a 50-megapixel Sony IMX890 periscopic telephoto lens. Selfies and video calls are expected to shine with the 32 MP front camera.

To boost performance, the device has been confirmed to be powered by a 4nm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. According to rumours, the Realme GT 5 Pro packs a powerful 5,400mAh battery, complemented by a 100W wired charger and wireless charging support 50 W.

In terms of software, the phone will run Realme UI 5 based on Android 14. It is expected to have a 6.78-inch AMOLED panel with a 1.5K resolution and a respectable 144Hz refresh rate.
