To celebrate techno's achievements and educate audiences about the underground reach of this now commercially popular sound, Houghton will embark on another educational tour in March. The ride will visit eight cities across the US and Canada and extol the virtues and values of techno from a variety of underground producers who create the genre's heaviest, weirdest and most underground acts. Each warehouse exhibition is produced in collaboration with an independent organizer.
"It's been ten years since the CNTRL tour and we seem to be immersed in a new techno sound that seamlessly incorporates the elements we were experimenting with at the time," Hawtin told Billboard. “The explosion and popularity of EDM 10 years ago is exactly why we created the CNTRL Tour, where we travel by bus across North America to access and challenge the ideals of techno through performances and conferences.

The 2023 This From Our Minds - To Be Announced tour kicks off March 10 in Detroit, the birthplace of techno, before touring Canada and then returning to the US for concerts in Las Vegas, San Francisco and beyond. The location has not yet been announced. The full program is available below.
Houghton will be joined on the tour, which takes its name from the 1990s Plus 8 label and its slogan "From Our Minds to Yours", spun by Canadian Barbosa, New Yorker Jay York and techno producers including Texans Decoder and Declan James. Phoenix-based Lindsey Herbert (who was introduced to techno as an EDM fan on a CNTRL tour), San Francisco DJ Deep Pedi and Guam-born, Los Angeles-based JIA. Of course, every show includes a set by Hawton himself.
The tour was produced in partnership with Genova, the Canadian agency founded by Barbosa, Decoder and fellow artist Garrett Finn (aka Riot). "This tour is not only a unique opportunity for us as budding artists and professionals to learn and grow, but also an opportunity to inspire and lead the entire scene," says a joint press release.
